Chatime to Open in Boston's Back Bay

A Taiwan-based chain of shops featuring bubble tea may be opening a second location in Boston, with this one being in the heart of the Back Bay.

According to a Licensing Board page within the City of Boston website, Chatime is looking to open on Newbury Street (between Fairfield Street and Gloucester Street), with a hearing taking place on the proposed shop on Wednesday, April 9. If approved, the new store would join another one on Harrison Avenue in Chinatown--which opened last month--along with more than 1,000 locations worldwide.

Chatime offers such items as fruit tea, pop tea, milk tea, mousse, smoothies, juices, and coffee.
